From Zumarraga, the disused Urola railway used to follow the river which gave it its name to Zumaia, where it linked up with  the coastal Ferrocarriles Vascongados railway line. Today part of its route has been recovered by the Provincial Government of Gipuzkoa as part of Route 5 of the Basic Cycle Path Network of Gipuzkoa.

This Greenway invites us to take a journey through the villages and mountainous landscape of the Guipuzcoan rural districts of Urola Medio and Alto Urola.
